Though the chefs at Patrizios rely on time-honored recipes when creating their brand of traditional Old World cooking, they aren't afraid to get creative. They draw from a pantry of imported Italian ingredients, which includes everything from salami to mozzarella, to put twists on classic dishes. The open-faced ravioli, for instance, brings together sautéed artichokes, mushrooms, roasted pepper, and asparagus under a blanket of roasted garlic cream sauce and basil pesto. Dishes such as Texas blue crab cakes with basil aioli and spicy remoulade further reinforce the cooks' New World sensibilities. Diners can then cap off their dining experience with one of nine Italian desserts, such as the warm chocolate chip and rum raisin bread pudding with caramel sauce and vanilla bean ice cream, and a post-meal sip of DiSaronno Amaretto liqueur.
