Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

when does the program start?

Jane C.  asked on  Nov 8, 2012

A:

Since this time of year is a little messy for scheduling (Christmas just being around the corner), you can sign up anytime before Christmas, or reserve a spot for after New Years, starting January 3rd. In the new year, the classes will be starting approximately every 4 weeks.

Q:

I am out of shape and scared I won"t do well. Is this good for beginners?

karen d.  asked on  Nov 9, 2012

A:

There's no reason to be scared or nervous! Although it's a group setting, you'll encounter so many different levels of fitness, plus I'll be there to guide you through everything. Within a few classes, you'll have proper technique on most movements and you'll only need a few reminders here and there.

Q:

I was a regular at the gym for about 25 years but haven't been there in a year. I have moderate arthritis in both knees and am about 80 pounds overweight. I'm really motivated to lose weight but am concerned about how certain activities will affect my knees.

George C.  asked on  Nov 9, 2012

A:

There are many lower body movements used, so it would be a good idea to check with a physician first. I can definitely accommodate certain injuries or ailments, and we can work together to find lower body movements that are pain free. But, as I said... always check with a medical doctor! :)

Q:

Is there a possiblity of a Sunday class instead of a Saturday class?

Karen M.  asked on  Nov 9, 2012

A:

Every Sunday there is a make-up session for those who have to miss one throughout the week. The time will vary, depending on the people who need to attend it. If there's enough demand, I may change one of the times to include a Sunday class rather than Saturday, but since the groups are almost full for this month, I can't change them right now.

Q:

I'm interested but don't know if this is for me. I enjoy working hard 16 hpurs days without days off. I'm 6 feet, 265 lbs, 57 years old, former youthful athlete but I had a heart attack 15 months ago. I also have bad knees that stopped my daily 5 mile run 20 years ago. My body doesn't stop when I push it. I guess that is why I was a good ahlete. When I do anything, my body continues until it collapses. Is this for me or am I barking up the wrong tree.

Ernest R.  asked on  Nov 8, 2012

A:

My recommendation would be to first see your physician. Although the program is quite capable of adapting to each persons needs, in this circumstance I would suggest seeking the opinion of a medical professional, as they may recommend against this form of exercise in your particular case.

Q:

Do you have to start the begin of the month?

Pamela W.  asked on  Nov 8, 2012

A:

I'm letting anyone who wishes to start before Christmas, to start-up any time between now and Nov. 25th. This will let everyone finish up their sessions by Christmas Eve. Once January comes, the sessions will start on the 3rd, or the nearest date for the particular group, and will start approximately every 4 weeks. For example, Group 2 is MWF 7am - You could start tomorrow and finish by Dec. 5th. :)
