What You'll Get
The French not only refined the definition of elegant dining, they’re also responsible for the renowned architecture of the Eiffel Tower’s magnificent lost-and-found office. Enjoy France’s many contributions with today’s Groupon: for $20, you get $40 worth of elegant dinner fare at The Pearl French Bistro in Newport News.
Serving contemporary variations of classic French cuisine, The Pearl French Bistro earns its reputation for authentic Parisian flavors and casual elegance. Diners begin their foray into the dinner menu, created by Cordon Bleu–trained chef Ihsan Korkmaz, with the salmon tartar ($10) or the roasted artichoke hearts ($10), which, like all the best French impressionist work, come with a selection of meats and cheeses. Diners unfold their intricately origamied napkins in preparation for the pistachio-peppercorn-crusted grilled beef tenderloin to sing a meaty symphony with wild-mushroom backup harmonies ($30). The citrus notes of the grilled lemon chicken breast ($22) sweetly complement an umami duo of roasted potatoes and carrots while patrons relax in the bistro’s elegant wrought-iron furniture. On request, the chef will whip up fresh vegetarian entrees ($18) fit for a king or for a particular shaggy-haired vegetarian knight.
