Pellegrino's School of Music & Art molds aspiring artistic minds from toddlers to teens in a variety of visual and musical mediums. Designed for ages 4–6 (and 3-year-olds upon approval), preschool art and music courses help tykes enhance motor skills and indulge in the creation of manual and aural masterpieces. Budding Botticellis dabble in drawing, painting, and sculpting while also playing, singing, and taking a well-earned snack break. For older students ages 8–13, Pellegrino's eight-week group art classes offer a variety of concentrations, including painting, mixed media, art history, sculpture, and illustrated writing. Classes culminate in a gallery showing for family, friends, and sibling critics who've obtained a press pass.
Beginner group guitar lessons school students in fundamentals including tuning, proper hand positioning, open major chords, and the inadvisability of using live oysters as picks. Energetic youngsters ages 8–17 can channel their love for rhythm into beginning drum lessons, which impart proper hand and foot technique, note value, and teach how to play basic rock beats in a band setting. Both classes culminate in a recital jam on stage in a relaxed setting with fog, lights, the gentle swaying of burning cell phones, and a rocking 8:30 p.m. after-party.
Pellegrino's School of Music & Art
Pellegrino's School of Music & Art molds artistic minds from toddlers to adults in a variety of visual and musical mediums. Though Pellegrino's breadth of subjects is diverse—ranging from kids' art classes to college-prep musical theory—its goal is simple: teach. Rather than splitting their time between renting instruments, selling sheet music, or any number of other services, the instructors focus intently on improving students' musical and artistic abilities through group and private lessons. Pellegrino's also takes their clients' time into account, offering music lessons over Skype so students don't have to worry about driving through traffic or running a seven-minute mile with a trombone strapped to their backs to make their lessons in time.
Skype lessons are limited at this time to guitar and drum lessons.
