What You'll Get
Classically trained Hawaiian guitarist Ian O'Sullivan comes to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in San Bruno. Well-versed in Hawaiian slack-key guitar and the ukulele, in addition to the Western classical repertoire, O'Sullivan has performed at Carnegie Hall and across the country. He can also be found regularly at home in Honolulu in clubs like Jazzminds, Tiki's and Mez 127. For this concert, he'll perform music from a carefully curated group of composers born in the Hawaiian Islands, who all share a deep understanding of classical music and classical guitar. Expect a variety of influences, from Renaissance to Impressionism, with many pieces heavily tinged with the sounds of the islands. Say "aloha" to your worries for an evening, and let yourself be carried away by the music of this talented performer.
