Four very different women wrestling with dieting, exercise, plastic surgery, sex over the age of 40 and other body image issues tackle them all with humor and pizzazz in WaistWatchers: The Musical. This clever production at Philly's Penn's Landing Playhouse follows the popular pattern of Menopause the Musical, as it delights with beloved pop songs and show tunes rewritten as parodies of the themes at hand. Thus, ABBA's "Dancing Queen" becomes "Botox Queen," West Side Story's "Maria" turns into "Viagra" and A Chorus Line's "I Hope I Get It" becomes "I Hope I Lose It." With 22 tunes, this fast-paced show gives its talented performers quite a workout, while you benefit from the belly laughs.
Running time is 90 minutes, with no intermission.
