Peralta Hacienda Historical Park
Through 6 acres of land that feature an Italianate Victorian registered-landmark home and remnants of an original adobe village, Peralta Hacienda Historical Park tells the story of the early Spanish colonists and Native Americans and the burgeoning of one of the first Spanish-speaking communities in the East Bay. The centerpiece is the Peralta House, a nationally registered historic structure that was built in 1870, which guests can tour for a glimpse of early Spanish colonial life. Remnants of original abobe structures and hacienda walls are supplemented with gardens and outdoor exhibits, as well as a nature area with creek and woods. The park serves as part museum, part education and arts center, and part venue for using history to build diversity.
