I have white spots on my teeth I've had since birth. Would you be able to whiten around the white spots, thus not making the white spots brighter?

Sometimes the white spots will blend in with the color on the rest of the surface of each tooth and sometimes the white spots will become more apparent after the whitening but it ultimately depends on the stains and well your teeth take to the hydrogen peroxide. The best way to describe the whitening process is that it reduces or eliminates the stains on your teeth so that should be the main focus if someone is intending to do a teeth whitening session. Thanks for the question. :)
