$2,299 for a Dental-Implant Package ($5,182 Total Value)
- Dental implant (a $2,395)
- Custom abutment (a $1,192 value)
- Implant-supported crown (a $1,595 value)
- Complimentary consultation, cleaning and panoramic x-ray
The multisession procedure starts with x-rays and impressions, which guide the surgeon’s positioning of the implant. He then numbs the treatment area and surgically places the implant into the bone. After enough time for the implant and bone to fuse—usually up to six months—a second surgery installs a secondary post, or custom abutment, that will support the crown. Gums heal over the next few weeks, after which the surgeon fits the crown, a process that can take up to two months.

About Periodontics and Dental Implants
Although he boasts an impressive surgical repertoire, periodontist Dr. Hamid Atabakhsh—an alumnus of UCLA’s School of Dentistry—would rather prevent diseases than cure them. He prides himself on his office’s thorough exams for oral cancer and overall health, and exhorts his clients to brush and floss rigorously at home. However, when treatments are in order, his deft hands can treat gingivitis, replace missing teeth with implants, or remove wisdom teeth before their accumulated wisdom violates insider-trading laws. To stay abreast of modern dentistry technology, Dr. Atabakhsh constantly updates his techniques with a stream of continuing-education seminars.
