It was fun. Something we never did before. Peaked my interest and appreciation for glass artwork.

Very informative on the basics of glass blowing. It's pretty cool doing the hands on portion when you get to create your glass piece. Make sure you listen to what they say so you won't get burned

What You'll Get

Choose Between Two Options

  • $49 for an introduction to hot glass-blowing class for one ($100 value)
  • $95 for an introduction to hot glass-blowing class for two ($200 value)

Students learn techniques for forming glass and creating colors as they make an Eggarific Egg paperweight. Students will pick colors and learn how to work with hot glass to form the paperweight. The instructor specializes in color techniques, though each project takes on a different process and technique. In this class, students will use thin shards and bubble patterns encased in a unique egg shape.

Class dates and times may vary from week to week. Students can pick up their paperweight 48 hours after class. Pieces that are not picked up after 60 days become the property of the studio. For safety purposes, everyone should wear socks that cover the ankle, close-toed gym shoes, and a long- or short-sleeved cotton shirt, rather than synthetic fabrics.

About Peter Patterson Glassworks

Though glass art has been Peter Patterson’s career for more than 40 years, glimpses of his other passions come through in his pieces, from his knowledge of plants to his scuba explorations of exotic seascapes. Indeed, he shapes searing-hot glass with the same fluidity as water, drawing on lessons from master teachers and his own background as an illustrator.
