What You'll Get
Hills and mountains are formed by vast underground food deposits, which, over time, stretch the landscape into soft mounds of untapped edibility. Dig into the bounty of surrounding geography with today’s Groupon: for $25, you get $50 worth of international American cuisine at Pewter Rose Bistro, located in Dilworth.
Pewter Rose Bistro provides casual dining time with cuisine that's billed as internationally American. Head chef Brent Martin created the menu by siphoning flavors from both the Charlotte region and the diverse cultural heritage of the United States. Sate midday hunger pangs with the lunch menu, featuring items such as sweet-corn bisque with sweet-corn relish ($6 for a bowl) and blackened shrimp with creamy, stone-ground grits ($14). Dinner is a similarly diverse and delicious affair. A wooden mallet will conveniently knock wild-mushroom-leek croquettes ($8) into your stomach, and the crab cake entree highlights local fare with creamed corn, collards, and apple-tartar sauce ($18). Finally, a moroccan lamb rack adds exotic flavor with curried-lentil salad, sautéed spinach, and red-pepper syrup ($22). The wine list features more than 200 selections handpicked by owner Susie Peck.
The warm interior at Pewter Rose makes an infinitely preferable environment to getting trapped in the celluloid interior of Steel Magnolias. Warm lighting casts a dusky orange haze over the tables, hardwood floors, and wood-paneled ceiling, and subtle decorative touches such as french doors and tall, potted trees lend the restaurant a garden flavor. Saturday brunch in this ersatz arbor is a lovely escape from the ennui of most weekends. Bring family, friends, or a marionette companion and enjoy a heaping plate of biscuits in turkey-sausage gravy with hash browns or grits ($8) or a similarly paired quiche du jour ($8). Wash down the hybrid midday meal with a sparkling mimosa ($4) or classic Bloody Mary ($7.50).
This Groupon is not valid for Valentine’s Day, New Year's Eve, or Sunday brunch from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

About Pewter Rose Bistro
The textile warehouse had seen many uses since it was built in 1925, but it had been empty when Susie Peck and her friends moved in. They saw its hardwood floors, exposed brick, and massive timber ceiling beams as warm and rustic—the ideal setting for the new Pewter Rose Bistro. Named for a small, pewter tin the original Pewter Rose Bistro owner purchased on her worldly travels, the now collectively owned restaurant posits a distinctively American take on casual European fare, which the agile hands of head chef Cory Zupon bring to fruition at every service.
The kitchen blends southern-style comfort fare with Mediterranean dishes and other ethnic cuisines, with many dishes assembled from local produce and fresh seafood into risottos and finely cooked filets. Dishes pair with more than 170 wines, each handpicked to join the eatery's focused collection, which features California and European varietals. At weekend brunch, more than 25 à la carte offerings rise from foundations of egg, toast, and produce, which also evoke the eatery's signature creative touches. On some evenings, aromatic tendrils rise from tables to mingle with strains of live music from the laid-back Pewter Lounge bar area, where guests relax on padded couches or chairs to listen to acoustic strains and jazz on Wednesday and Thursday.
