Q:

Can I schedule an eye exam there and have my insurance pay for it, then use this groupon to purchase my glasses?

Daniel C.  asked on  Nov 17, 2011

A:

Hey Daniel! You can use your insurance benefits for the exam and any other services or products you are eligible for. You cannot use your insurance benefits combined with the Groupon for the purchase of frames and lenses.

Q:

When is the groupon available after purchase? If I purchase this groupon today, would I be able to use this groupon on say saturday of the same week. Also what is the range of price in frames and lens? Thanks

Angela S.  asked on  Nov 16, 2011

A:

The Groupon should be in your account as soon as it is done processing. You should be able to use your Groupon the next day. Please contact your specific location with any stock/pricing questions.

Q:

You say most frames are $139-$399 does that include the lenses as well? or do they cost more on top of that?

Dan B.  asked on  Nov 17, 2011

A:

The Groupon offer is a $175 credit towards your final purchase of frames and lenses. Keep in mind that there are some frames and lens combinations in our selection that fall below $175 - namely, budget friendly frames with a basic, plastic, single vision lens. If your total is less than $175, Groupon will pay for it in total, but there is no cash back ( that's a Groupon policy.) However, many of our premium frames (designers, sunglasses, etc.) and lens options (tints, Anti reflective coatings, Scratch coatings, transition lens, bifocals, blended bifocals and progressive lenses) cost more because they are more sophisticated and/or superior products.

Q:

Do you guys sell sunglasses (without prescriptions lenses)? If so, can the groupon be used towards those? The way the heading is worded, it just says sunglasses not prescription sunglasses.

Maria S.  asked on  Nov 16, 2011

A:

Maria, Thanks for the inquiry - I'm happy to clarify! We do stock what we call "plano" sunglasses ; essentially, sunglasses without prescription, and you are welcome to use the Groupon for that purpose. However, all of our sunglass selections include the cost of a single vision lens in the price, and we do not offer any discount off the price if you elect a "plano" option. Does that make sense? If not, please feel free to give a call to our opticians at 215-238-1444 for further clarification. Karen

Q:

Hi - My ten year-old son just broke his glasses and we got a current eye exam last week -- but they wanted over $400 for replacement glasses/lenses! He is not picky -- but needs a basic pair of wire-rimmed frames with whatever lens won't shatter if he's playing sports and gets hit by a ball, etc. Do you have basic frames and this type of lens that could fit into the $175 or close to it? Also, do you have any program for kids' frames, since they're always breaking them?

Pamela W.  asked on  Nov 16, 2011

A:

Pamela, We insist that all children under the age of 18 have a polycarbonate, impact resistant lens. We do have several frame and lens combinations for children where the cost can be completely covered by the $175 Groupon. The only other thing you may want to consider for your son is an anti-reflective coating that will cut glare from city lights, florescents, and computers and increase visual acuity. Also, you might consider getting a pair of safety sport frames with UV protection for your son if he plays alot of sports. If you are interested in talking with an optician, please give us a call at 215-238-1444 and he or she can talk you through the costs associated with those additional products and features. I hope this helps! Karen

Q:

I just want to make sure I have this correct. If the total price of the glasses with prescription is above $175, the Groupon will pay up to $175, and I will pay the difference? If the price is below $175, the Groupon will pay for this?

Kelly N.  asked on  Nov 16, 2011

A:

Kelly, Yes! The Groupon offer is a $175 credit towards your final purchase of frames and lenses. Keep in mind that there are some frames and lens combinations in our selection that fall below $175 - namely, budget friendly frames with a basic, plastic, single vision lens. If your total is less than $175, Groupon will pay for it in total, but there is no cash back ( that's a Groupon policy.) However, many of our premium frames (designers, sunglasses, etc.) and lens options (tints, Anti reflective coatings, Scratch coatings, transition lens, bifocals, blended bifocals and progressive lenses) cost more because they are more sophisticated and/or superior products; that is what the Groupon is designed to help with! Our hope is the cost savings will allow you to afford exactly the kind of frame and lenses that are best for you while still remaining affordable! Make sense? :) Karen

Q:

I have a pair of vintage frames and a current prescription. Can I use this Groupon towards getting new lenses put into my own frames? I want UV coating, Glare Coating, and Transitions lenses, so the lenses themselves are quite expensive.

Karen M.  asked on  Nov 16, 2011

A:

Karen M., Thanks for your inquiry! Unfortunately, this deal is designed for a full set of new frames and lenses. However, we fit custom lenses for vintage frames all the time - If you are interested in coming in for a quote we can do the work onsite, and most likely, the same day. I hope this helps! Karen

Q:

I have a contact lens exam prescription provided five months ago. Can I use it to get a pair of glasses?

Liwen M.  asked on  Nov 16, 2011

A:

Liwen M, Thanks for writing! When you had your eyes examined for contact lenses, you probably also had a refraction for eye glasses. Will we need that prescription, not your contact lens prescription, in order to make up your glasses. I would recommend contacting your optometrist to get a hold of that refraction prescription. I hope that helps! Karen

Q:

Hi, Can I select frames and then get a pair of sunglasses made along with those frames and my prescription?

Anisha  asked on  Nov 16, 2011

A:

Anisha, Thanks for writing! I'm not sure I understand your question. If you woud like to talk with someone, please call 215-238-1444 and ask to speak with an Optician; I'm sure that he or she can help you! Karen
