The Grammy-nominated Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, famed for their historically informed performances, surveys the best of European baroque music from A -- British composer Thomas Arne's Overture to Purcell's King Arthur -- to Z, Czechoslovakia's Jan Dismas Zelenka's Hipocondrie à 7 Concertanti. Taking the stage at Herbst Theatre at the San Francisco War Memorial Building under the baton of musical director Nicholas McGegan, this honored ensemble is also set to tackle a violin concerto by Tartini, Rameau's Suite from Les Fêtes de L'Hymen et de L'Amour and a concerto by Johann David Heinichen, whose musical travels took him from Germany to Venice to Dresden.

Event Description:

Length of performance is approximately one hour and 45 minutes.

There’s a pre-concert talk at 7:15pm.
