"To play a wrong note is insignificant," Beethoven once said, but "to play without passion is inexcusable." Perhaps no ensemble plays Beethoven with more passion than the Polish Baltic Philharmonic (and with no wrong notes, insignificant or otherwise). Now the PBP travels from their home base of Gdansk in northern Poland to wow SoCal audiences with performances of the Wild-Haired One's most dazzling works. Maestro Boguslaw Dawidow -- whom the Gazette-Journal called "a conductor of great stature" -- conducts Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, his Egmont Overture as well as his Piano Concerto No. 5 with Marcin Koziak as soloist. Get caught up in the passion and the beauty of this all-Beethoven program presented by the Philharmonic Society.
