After its recent premiere at the Kennedy Center, Tango, Song and Dance makes its way to the Irvine Barclay Theatre to combine the stellar talents of violinist Augustin Hadelich and pianist Joyce Yang. Hadelich -- with his signature fast-fingered virtuosity -- has joined the ranks of elite violinists through his acclaimed debut with the New York Philharmonic, and subsequent performances at prestigious festivals including Aspen, Chautauqua and Tanglewood. Internationally renowned pianist Yang has been described by The Washington Post as a "poetic and sensitive pianist ... capable of hurling thunderbolts." The Juilliard graduate started playing at the age of four, and went on to become the youngest competitor and silver medalist at the 2005 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. In this concert presented by the Philharmonic Society, the masterful duo will unite to play Spanish-inspired violin and piano pairings by Previn, Rodrigo, De Falla and more.
