What You'll Get
Three-time Grammy-winning violin virtuoso Hilary Hahn shares the Segerstrom Concert Hall stage with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, who'll be making their annual Orange County visit under the baton of talented young Lithuanian conductor Mirga Grazinyte-Tyla. One of the most sought-after artists of her generation, Hahn's been fawned over by critics, including the Los Angeles Times, which called her "technically immaculate and musically magisterial." (Several composers, including concerti by Edgar Meyer and Jennifer Higdon, have written works specially for her.) Together they'll perform masterworks by Vieuxtemps, Weinberg and Tchaikovsky. Vieuxtemps's Violin Concerto No. 4 was the last major work Hahn studied with the legendary Klara Berkovich, her teacher from age five to 10. Arrive one hour before this concert, presented by the Philharmonic Society, for a pre-concert lecture by Christopher Russell.
Weinberg: Suite From The Golden Key
Vieuxtemps: Violin Concerto No. 4 in D minor, Op. 31
Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 4 in F minor, Op. 36
