What You'll Get
Acclaimed early music vocal ensemble The Orlando Consort brings to life the 15th century with a program of music from the time set to Carl Theodor Dreyer's silent film masterpiece The Passion of Joan of Arc. Full of stunningly dramatic black and white images, Dreyer's film captures the legendary French military leader and saint's trial and execution by burning with masterful tension and emotion. Performing the ethereal and stirring vocal music of Joan of Arc's era, The Orlando Consort conveys her story of heroism and purported communication with angels. Experience this centuries-in-the-making collaboration at this event presented by the Philharmonic Society of Orange County at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts.
There is a pre-concert lecture by Jean Drum at 7:00pm.
