When Schumann heard Mendelssohn's Piano Trio No. 1, he called his fellow composer "the Mozart of the 19th century, the most illuminating of musicians." It's just one of the early Romantic-era pieces that acclaimed chamber ensemble Camera Lucida will perform in this Philharmonic Society concert. Schumann will also be represented, with his ingenious Piano Quartet, one of the most popular of its kind. Schubert kicks off the program with his String Trio No. 2, which was composed when he was only 20 years old. Made up of members of the San Diego Symphony, UC San Diego performance faculty and guests from the international chamber music world, Camera Lucida presents this concert at the Irvine Barclay Theatre.
