All the Authentic dishes were prepared exactly like the way grandma did :-), especially the noodle soups as well as all the marinated pork. The staffs were polite, fast and friendly. The parking in the back was definitely a plus. Ohhh, did I mention the price was very resonable.

What You'll Get

Soup is like the grandmother of meals: warm, comforting, and enjoyable with or without teeth. Bask in the comforting embrace of this sippable supper with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of Vietnamese cuisine at Pho Hoa Restaurant in Dorchester.

The chefs at Pho Hoa Restaurant transport taste buds through Vietnam's three regions on a menu built upon 28 varieties of noodle soup and fresh, traditional cuisine. The restaurant's signature pho ($4.50–$10.95, ranging from children’s size to extralarge) floods taste buds with a tasty torrent of savory broth and Vietnamese noodles that diners are free to accent with garnishes of fresh herbs, bean sprouts, lime, and hot chili pepper. The pho-unfamiliar can test the simmering waters by selecting from a cornucopia of classic beef cuts to anchor their soup, such as brisket, eye round steak, or meatballs, while more adventurous appetites can branch out with more exotic ingredients such as tripe and pickled safari hats, or by sampling chicken- or seafood-based versions.

House-special vermicelli plates ($8.50–$12.95), which supply all the fixings for a dinner of DIY spring rolls, present fillings such as shrimp on sugarcane and grilled pork, enticing fingers to finish their masterpiece with a sprig of mint or a drizzle of sweet fish sauce. As pork ribs ($9.95) braise slowly and sweetly in a large iron pot for family-style enjoyment on tables, the kitchen wizards miraculously clone seven vegetarian house specials ($7.50–$8.95), including vegetable fried rice and a clay pot stuffed with sizzling snow peas, broccoli, baby corn, and a key to the restaurant's back door. In the dining room, bamboo accents, scenic watercolor paintings, and Vietnamese music set the tone for a relaxing, authentic meal with friends or friendly waiters. Though the restaurant boasts a newly updated wine list, today's Groupon is not good for alcohol, and vice versa, as evidenced by the time it woke up in a strange bathtub folded into inappropriate shapes.
