Filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard once said, "The cinema is truth at 24 frames per second," making slow-mo sports replays and sped-up Benny Hill gags nothing but cruel, cruel lies. Get the real deal with today's Groupon to the Phoenix Film Festival, hosted by the Phoenix Film Foundation. The festival runs from March 31 through April 7 at the Harkins Scottsdale 101 Theatre. Choose between the following options:

  • For $150, you get a VIP pass to the festival (up to a $250 value).
  • For $18, you get a flex pass to the festival (up to a $30 value).

Called one of the 25 Coolest Film Festivals by MovieMaker magazine, the Phoenix Film Festival screens more than 150 feature films and shorts in a variety of genres. With the VIP pass, festival-goers get a complimentary T-shirt, priority seating, and front-of-line bragging rights, and can see any of their choice of films (except the opening-night gala) throughout the festival. VIPs can also attend any of the events from April 1 through April 7, such as the Friday-night or Saturday-night parties and the festival's awards party, during which the winners of the prestigious Copper Wing Awards will be announced and this year's Best Director will sit on a dunk tank filled with scalding popcorn butter.

With the flex pass, movie buffs can attend four individual screenings—excluding any of the opening-night or closing-night films. This year's films run the full gamut of cinematic splendor, ranging from the star-filled Henry's Crime to Academy Award-winning God of Love, which won for Best Live Action Short Film.
