Remember the rousing march that set the tone for all of Steve McQueen's daring schemes in The Great Escape? Or the Wild West-evoking strings and horns of cowboy classic The Magnificent Seven? That unforgettable movie music all came from the mind of one man. With Celebrating Bernstein, the Phoenix Symphony celebrates the life, legacy and music of legendary Hollywood composer Elmer Bernstein. This world premiere concert offers a behind-the-scenes look at iconic music from the Bernstein library, accompanied by movie clips projected on a large screen above the orchestra. Enjoy scores and scenes from cinematic favorites like To Kill A Mockingbird, The Ten Commandments, Animal House, Ghostbusters and more. Conducted by Bernstein's son Peter, this Symphony Hall performance also features a special appearance by Mockingbird star Mary "Scout" Badham.
