Q:

I want to purchase this as a gift for someone who doesn't live in my area-- do these courses require any "on the ground" learning? Or is the course strictly online? Can the course be complete at one's own pace? Or are there deadlines/specific times to be online?

Aubrey H.  asked on  Dec 11, 2012

A:

Hello, Thank you for your interest in our courses. All our courses are strictly online and there is no in-class attendance required. They can be completed at your own pace and the modules are accessible for a year from the date of registration. There is no set time to be online, and you can complete the course at the convenience of your own schedule. Hope this helps. Q:

If the course says 14-hours, do you have only 14 hours to complete it? or can the user go at their own pace and start and stop along the way? Is the course taught as a group or do you teach yourself individually using online materials during the hours you choose?

Karen D.  asked on  Dec 11, 2012

A:

Hello, Thank you for your interest in our courses. The courses are 14 hours of instruction time. However, you have unlimited access to all modules for one year and they can be played as many times as you like. The courses are self-paced and not in a group setting. They are to be taken individually. All questions and communication is done with the instructor only. Hope this helps. Q:

Do you need a DSLR, or can I use a compact digital camera?

Kirby K.  asked on  Dec 11, 2012

A:

Hello, Thank you for your interest in our courses. The camera best suited for this course is either a DSLR or Point-Shoot Camera with manual controls (Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Manual and Program Mode). These settings give you the ability to control your exposures. Some Compact cameras many not have these functions, in which case you would benefit from the theory. Hope this helps. Q:

The Photoshop class says it comes with a trial of the software. How long does that trial last? If the class is online and at your own pace, can one assume that the trial will last as long as you are taking the online course? Also, is the course materials, like an instruction manual for photoshop available for download for future reference in case the student forgets how to do something learned during the course?

Karen D.  asked on  Dec 11, 2012

A:

Hello, Thank you for your interest in our courses. The trial version is valid for 30 days, and is fully functional. If you intend on taking longer then 30 days to complete the course, you would need to secure the software independently after this period. All training material is accessible for one year, and is available only when logged into the E-Portal. Hope this helps.
