Questions and Answers 10 questions

Q:

Looking at buying the 4 courses and considering you have 30 days for the trial...does that mean that once the 30 days have gone by, will I then have to pay for each the other 3 courses software or will each course allow for a 30 day trial of the software?

joanne h.  asked on  Feb 17, 2013

A:

You have access to all the courses for one full year. Each course, except the photography one, has an associated program (i.e. three different programs). If you do not own the program, you can download a trial version of it that is good for 30 days. If you do not finish the course within 30 days, then you will have to purchase that program. Each program has its own 30-day trial period.

Q:

Okay, I understand that for about $80 I can buy Photo basics, Photoshop cS6, Dreamweaver and Flash. And I must activate them all before August. And once activated I have a year to do the course. Then after each activation, for 30 days I get to use trial software for each course, then I have to buy that software ... which is fine. I have several questions: a) are you registered as an educational institution with Abobe so I can get the student prices for the software? I'd like to take the courses over the next year so then a) how do the online sessions work? - Do I get to download the sessions so I can watch/re-watch them as needed? - Are there course handouts and exercises - Is there "homework" and if there is what feedback can I expect to get - How do instructors provide feedback or to answer questions? Thanks!

Suzan G.  asked on  Feb 17, 2013

A:

A) You watch the sessions on their site. You do not download them. You will have access to them for a year. B) If you have questions, you will be able to e-mail them in.

Q:

I don't have a fancy camera--is that a problem?

em  asked on  Feb 15, 2013

A:

The camera best suited for this course is either a DSLR or Point-Shoot Camera with manual controls (Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Manual and Program Mode). These settings give you the ability to control your exposures.

Q:

I see I have one year from time of start to complete each course. Correct? But I see that the free software provided for each course is only for 30 days. Correct? If so, what would I do if it takes me more than 30 days to complete each course? (I'm considering purchasing all 4 courses.) Would I be required to purchase the software in order to complete the course? Groupon offers are known to be a good deal, but I have to ask....why is Photo Art Studio offering such a discount? Are these software versions still relevent in the professional arena? Or based more for personal/home use?

Michelle R.  asked on  Feb 15, 2013

A:

Yes, you have one year from the date of activation to take the courses. The trial version is valid for 30 days, and is fully functional. If you intend on taking longer then 30 days to complete the course, you would need to secure the software independently after this period. The skills are still very relevant to the professional arena. As with any business offering a sale, it is a way to entice the customers who are satisfied with their products to try their other normal-priced offerings.

Q:

I would like to know what sort of certification you guys give us once we complete any of the courses? Are you guys accredited? How will this help me in my job search? Can I add this to my resume? How long is the certification good for? 12 months, 2 years etc?

Q:

I will not have time to begin course until the end of June or July.. Can I buy a delayed start and expiration date now? Or is it better to wait and see what offers are available at that time.

JAMES H.  asked on  Feb 14, 2013

A:

As noted on the Groupon and "Expires Aug 14, 2013" and "Must activate by the expiration on your Groupon, courses will expire 1-year from activation." -- so, you can redeem it in June or July.
