Q:

Is each course a total of 14 hours? Is it best to purchase adobe photoshop cs 6 extended software? do you know the approximate cost? Any other software purchases required or suggested?

Maria  asked on  Feb 14, 2013

A:

Yes, each course is 14 hours. The courses are designed for any version of Photoshop above CS 4. Elements is limited in functionality when compared to the CS versions. They suggest downloading the trial software and using it for the course. Once you are familiar with CS 4 or higher you can very easily transfer your skills over to Elements. If you don't have any software, you can use a trial version that is valid for 30 days, and is fully functional. If you intend on taking longer then 30 days to complete the course, you would need to secure the software independently after this period.

Q:

I bought Adobe photoshop elements 11 but am totally lost, is this program something simple enough for a beginner to understand, and apply to elements 11? Debbie

debbie c.  asked on  Feb 12, 2013

A:

Hi there, Thank you for your inquiry and interest in our courses. Photoshop Elements is somewhat limited in functionality when compared to the CS versions. We would suggest downloading the appropriate software (Adobe Photoshop CS 6 Extended), and using it for the course. This can be done for free here: http://www.photoartstudio.ca/resources.php You can then transfer your skills over to a more simplistic software such as Elements. The interface is nearly identical. However Elements lacks certain functions that are available on CS. Hope this helps, if you require any additional information please feel free to contact us anytime. Q:

Your site says it includes a full free trial to the software that you would need for the class. I looked on their website and it says it's only a 30 day trial. But you have a year to complete it. How can you do that without the software? Do we need to then purchase the software after the 30 days to complete the class?

Lisett D.  asked on  Feb 12, 2013

A:

Hi there, Thank you for your inquiry and interest in our courses. Students that are dependent on the trial version should aim to finish the course within the 30 day trial period. After that point students would need to secure the software independently. Hope this helps, if you require any additional information please feel free to contact us anytime. Warm Regards, [Support] Photo Art Studio W: www.photoartstudio.ca e: info@photoartstudio.ca

Q:

HI I was wondering if you needed a certain type of digital camera for this course?

Sandra W.  asked on  Feb 12, 2013

A:

Hi there, Thank you for your inquiry and interest in our courses. The camera best suited for this course is a DSLR or Point-Shoot with manual controls. For example Manual Mode, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority and Program mode. Certain point-shoots do not allow for manual control so you are a bit limited. In this case you would benefit more from the theory then practical application. Hope this helps, if you require any additional information please feel free to contact us anytime.
