Welcome to Groupon, Huntsville! For our inaugural deal, $10 for $20 at Phuket Thai Restaurant & Sushi. Since this is everyone's first Groupon, allow us to briefly explain how it works.
How Groupon Works
Groupon is a combination of the words group and coupon. Each day, we offer an unbeatable deal on the best of Huntsville: restaurants, spas, sporting events, theater, and more. By promising businesses a minimum number of customers, we get discounts you won't find anywhere else. We call it "collective buying power."
If you want to get the deal, just click BUY before the offer ends at midnight. If the minimum number of people (10 for today's deal) sign up by the end of the day, you'll be emailed a gift certificate the next morning. You can print your Groupons, or redeem them with our mobile app. Use them whenever you want until the deal expires—today's expires in six months. If not enough people join, no one gets the deal (and you won't be charged), so invite your friends to make sure you get the discount!
Thai food attempts to balance the five fundamental flavors: hot, sour, sweet, salty, and victory. Score a win for your mouth with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of Thai fare, sushi, and drinks at Phuket Thai Restaurant & Sushi, which was named Best Sushi in 2009 by readers of the Huntsville Times.
Named for a pearl-like island in the middle of the Andaman Sea, Phuket serves up diverse menu items such as sizzling curries ($11–$13) and sushi- and tempura-packed bento boxes ($8–$10, lunch only) in a stylish dining room worthy of its picturesque namesake. The culinary lineup also includes gluten-free and vegetarian options, pleasing those with more particular palates. For conversation lubrication, sip a wide selection of tropical martinis that tempt tipplers with glistening jewel colors and come-hither looks.
The Huntsville Times gave Phuket Thai Restaurant & Sushi the title of Best Sushi in 2009. Valley Planet put Phuket in the top three for Best Overall Restaurant and Best Asian in 2009. Eighty-three percent of more than 300 Urbanspooners recommend the restaurant. Citysearchers give it an average of 4.5 stars. TripAdvisors give Phuket an average rating of 3.5 owl eyes and six Yelpers give it an average of 3.5 stars:
Phuket Thai Restaurant
The culinary artisans at Phuket Thai Restaurant sling a menu of Thai cuisine and sushi rolls as colorful as the eatery's yellow and red walls. Coconut milk–infused curries and noodle dishes share plate real estate with house specialties such as roasted duck curry and spicy catfish, as well as more than 25 sushi rolls packed with fresh seafood and vegetables. Steaming pans also sizzle gluten-free and vegetarian entrees, and chefs gladly accommodate requests for varying levels of spice and sentience. Asian artwork dots the walls throughout the dining room, lending to an overall vibe of soothing east-Asian calm.
