As a small, family-owned business focusing on intimate fine-dining experiences, it's fitting that the name Piccolo Ristorante translates to "little restaurant." But what it lacks in size it makes up for in passion, and that starts with chef-owner Andres Avayú and his diverse menu of classic Italian cuisine. Chef Avayú specializes in incoporating unique ingredients and flavors to transform old-world dishes more effectively than an appearance on a daytime talk show's makeover segment. The menu features such popular entrees as the chianti-braised short rib with creamy sun-dried tomato polenta. It also boasts numerous pastas—including ragu alla bolognese with a homemade sauce—as well as suggested wine pairings for each dish.
