Pilates for Life's experienced team of instructors draws from distinct fitness backgrounds to guide one-hour Group Equipment classes on reformer and tower machines. Students in the Group Equipment 1/2 Reformer 1/2 Tower class enjoy increased control and stability on the units as they follow the full-body workout with fluid movements, proper breathing, and notes on proper alignment stitched into the hems of their athletic clothes. The routines in the more-advanced Group Equipment class move at a faster pace and occasionally integrate the combo chair and ladder barrel, allowing seasoned Pilates practitioners to coax the equipment into reaching its fullest core-strengthening potential. Specific sessions for students with osteoporosis and osteopenia spotlight safe, modified exercises that help tone bodies without placing undue strain on joints. First time practitioners can take part in lessons without previous private session experience and discover how Pilates can help build lean muscles, augment flexibility, and stabilize the tempestuous relationship between the spine and shoulders.

About Pilates For Life
Cathy Moses Baldasserini studied dance and therapy and received full scholarships to New York dance conservatories such as Martha Graham and Alvin Ailey. She began practicing Pilates as a way to hone and refine her body, the instrument of her self-expression. Now, she teaches it full time at her fitness-dedicated studio, Pilates for Life.
Joined by nine other teachers, Cathy reforms students' bodies with both basic and machine-assisted Pilates, yoga and Qi Gong. She uses Pilates for its renowned ability to strengthen the site of injuries or chronic pain and to provide conditioning for weak joints, problem backs, and those who have osteoporosis. She also implements devices such as reformers—a system of pulleys and sliding platforms that enhance Pilates's classic horizontal exercises—and towers, which incorporate the natural resistance of gravity into Pilates movements.
