What You'll Get
National parks are more exhilarating than ever, thanks to the government's initiative to have bald eagles reenact the signing of the Declaration of Independence every day. Enjoy patriotic parkdom with today's Groupon to the Pinnacle Mountain Rendezvous in Little Rock. Choose between the following options:
- For $10, you get $10 for parking and $10 worth of mountain-man money to use at the Pinnacle Mountain Rendezvous held on October 15 and 16 (a $20 value). Festival admission is free, but mountain-man money can be used toward food and activities.
- For $12, you get a Partners for Pinnacle membership (a $25 value).
The Pinnacle Mountain Rendezvous vividly recreates the celebratory gatherings held between Arkansas settlers and Native Americans in the early 1800s. Reenactors traverse the festival grounds bedecked in buckskins and recount tales of daily life, including hours spent playing Buck Hunt with wood-carved controllers. Visitors can witness bygone methods of blacksmithing and fire starting or test their tossing arms at the tomahawk throw. The Inter-Tribal Association of Arkansas performs traditional dances within a teepee settlement, and the children’s village beguiles young with face painting, crafts and crystal sifting at the mine. Guests can put their mountain-man money toward food vendors and activities, and supplement an afternoon of horseback riding, canoeing, parking cars with your bare hands, and scaling the climbing wall.
Proceeds from Pinnacle Mountain Rendezvous fund the environmental education mission of Pinnacle Mountain State Park. Partners for Pinnacle memberships further the park’s patronage and impart members with regular newsletters, a T-shirt, and an invite to members-only gatherings held twice a year.
