The waitress was very friendly and courteous, she made sure we were very satisfied with our meals and the cook came up and introduced himself he made sure also that we were satisfied. We told him the food was absolutely delicious. We also had plenty of food to take home.

I couldn't eat the buffet because of dietary restrictions and figured I'd just have the salad bar but the owner volunteered to make me a hot custom made sandwich that was really great. Very accommodating and eager to please!

Drawing from a cache of family recipes, the cooks at Pittsburgh Cafe sate appetites with a homemade surfeit of soup and daily themed dishes, including southern, German, and Italian fare. For dinner, guests can feast on sampled items from the appetizer basket to stretch jaw muscles for the upcoming chewing marathon and subsequent tell-all book. Servers open the gates to the all-you-can-eat dinner, which busies diners with homemade soup, a choice of two dinner entrees, a homemade side, signature fried dough, and a trip to the salad bar to explore more than 20 different toppings. Touring a different region of the globe each day, from-scratch gnocchi trundles to tables on Wednesdays, and oversize, kraut- and potato-stuffed pierogies perform elaborate polkas every Thursday.

Similarly stocked, the lunch buffet quiets midday stomach groans with four themed dishes, soup, and a salad bar, but also lavishes taste buds with a pizza buffet. Those dabbling in edible carpentry can build a sandwich by wielding hot tools of chicken, beef, veggie burger, or fried cod. The café’s interior augments all meals with wooden floors, hanging lights, colorful prints, and a stone fireplace, which guests can use to destroy incriminating ice sculptures.
