Since its Broadway debut in 1977, Annie has trampled cats and forged past phantoms to become one of America’s most beloved musicals. Based on the comic strip Little Orphan Annie, the musical Annie tells the story of plucky 11-year-old Annie and her journey from orphanage to opulence to the Oval Office during Depression-era America. The songs of Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, especially “Tomorrow” and “It’s the Hard Knock Life,” have become modern classics and Jay-Z samples, and the show’s theme of optimism during hardships remains as relevant as ever. Plus, there’s a real live dog onstage.

Founded in 1990, Pittsburgh Musical Theater harvests Pittsburgh’s homegrown talent of singers, dancers, and singer-dancers to participate in quality productions of musical-theater mainstays. Dig your bottom dollar out from beneath the couch and get your Groupon for a night of musical magic with Annie, Daddy Warbucks, Miss Hannigan, and America’s all-time most adorable president, Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

Gold Circle seating includes rows A–Q on the orchestra level and rows AA–DD on the mezzanine.
