What You'll Get
It's 1975 and you're invited into Truman Capote's deluxe Manhattan apartment. Despite spectacular views, the literary giant with the tiny voice is looking inward. Celebrated for books like Breakfast at Tiffany's and In Cold Blood, his recent piece in Esquire magazine has dropped like a bomb on New York's high society. The article exposes secrets about Capote's powerful and glamorous friends and, to his surprise, they are furious. Depicting him as both a genius and a gossip, one-man play Tru draws from the writer's own words and works and catches him at his turning point. Broadway's Eddie Korbich plays Capote in this production at Pittsburgh Public Theater at the O'Reilly Theater.
This production is recommended for audience members ages 15 and older.
The running time is approximately one hour and f45 minutes, including intermission.
