Q:

I think that my eye exam was done either at Sterling or another such place...not a dr. office per se. Does the exam have to have been done within the last year or 2 years?

Stephen J.  asked on  Dec 9, 2012

A:

Stephen, The prescribing doctor will determine the expiration date of your eye exam. We can always contact the office and request a copy to be faxed ahead. Thanks for your question! Fawn Store Manager

Q:

I am on medicare ans will be having cataract surgery soon ( one eye at time). I now have progressive lenses and no doubt will need them in the future. Is your offer appropriate under these circumstances?

gerald c.  asked on  Dec 6, 2012

A:

Yes, the Groupon can be used towards a progressive lens Rx and you may also use it towards Transitions or Polarized Sunglass Progressive lenses. Thanks for your question! Fawn Store Manager

Q:

Hi. Are you able to call for Rx or do we have to provide that ourselves? I have bifocals. Where does that price range begin?

Ramona W.  asked on  Dec 6, 2012

A:

Hi Ramona, We can certainly call your doctor's office and request a copy of your prescription to be faxed over prior to your visit. Bi-focal with the line lenses in polycarbonate start at $224.95. There are many other options such as progressive or no-line bifocals that start at $249.95/ I would recommend stopping in at your convenience so we can give you a more accurate quote along with taking a look at our selection of name brand eyeglass frames. Q:

Can I use the groupon for kids (9 y.o)?

Xiaofeng Z.  asked on  Dec 6, 2012

A:

Dear Xiaofeng, Yes, the Groupon is good towards any frame and lens selection. While we do not solely carry any childrens frames, we do have a selection of petite and small sized frames that may fit younger children. Thanks for your question! Fawn Store Manager

Q:

Does this groupon cover the eye exam itself or just the glass and lenses?

sheila a.  asked on  Dec 6, 2012

A:

Hi Sheila, As an optical boutique we do not provide eye exams. Therefore, you are free to re-visit your previous eye doctor or choose a new one at your convenience. The Groupon is good towards the purchase of a complete pair of eyeglasses which includes the frame and your prescription lenses. Thanks for your question! Fawn Store Manager

Q:

This is the first time Im considering a groupon purchase especially for something like this. So the price includes lenses and frames... does it include bifocals or only single vision lenses: what about special coatings like scratch resistance or one that reduces glare for computer users or transition lenses ( i think those go dark in sunlight?). can those features be added (whats the additional cost) Im considering this because I need a 2nd pr of glasses, but my insurance benefit isn't available yet.

Jody N.  asked on  Dec 6, 2012

A:

Hi Jody, This Groupon is good towards the purchase of a complete pair of eyeglasses which is basically the frame and the Rx lenses. There are no restrictions on selection of frames ($99 and up) and choice of lenses ($164.95 and up). Today's technology of prescription lenses gives you so many options to suit your life style and budget. I would recommend your first stopping with a copy of your current eyeglass prescription so you can have a chance to take a look at our frame brand selections and so we may also give you a more accurate quote. Thanks for the great question! Fawn Store Manager

Q:

Could insurance also be applied to the cost of the glasses?

Renee  asked on  Dec 6, 2012

A:

Hi Renee, While the Groupon is a stand-alone offer that cannot be directly combined with any insurance plans at the point of sale, we can submit a claim to your vision insurance plan so you may receive a reimbursement check in the amount of your vision plan benefit. We can submit on your behalf if you have Excellus BCBS of Rochester or MVP of Rochester, otherwise, can complete the HCFA I500 Insurance form for you. Thanks for the great question!
