The museum was fabulous! We love that we can take as much time as we want going through the museum and get up close to everything! The history, pictures and artifacts are so awesome. The people are very friendly and are very willing to talk about the aircraft and answer any questions that we had. I loved it there and will definitely be back!

Took my husband for his Christmas present as he is a ex-military man. We had such a great time. The ladies in the gift shop were very nice also. Got pet some of the kitties that roam around and than finished our day off with lunch at the little diner down the street. This is a MUST for the military active and retired. Can't wait for our cousins to come visit as both husband and wife are ex-military.

About Planes of Fame

Planes of Fame was simply dubbed “The Air Museum” when it was founded in 1957—as the only museum of its kind west of the Mississippi, it had no need for a more specific moniker. More than 50 years later, it now boasts a stock of over 40 displays and aircrafts such as the Messerschmitt 109G Gustav, Martin 4-0-4, Stinson L5 Sentinel, Douglas RB-26 Invader, Grumman F11F-1F Super Tiger & Stearman PT-17. Patrons can also explore an array of exhibits and aircraft that trace aviation’s history.
