What You'll Get
On the International Space Station, brave astro-pioneers pass the time by making crafts—namely, dream catchers to catch the dreams of any nearby aliens dreaming of attacking Earth. Make your crafting dreams come true with today's Groupon: for $25, you get $50 worth of classes at Planet Bead in Hillsboro.
Every Saturday and Sunday, Planet Bead’s experienced instructors transform idle hands into craft-making machines with an assortment of classes. Neophyte necklace-makers can assemble a stylish throat-lace with Swarovski pearls on Saturday, June 18 ($32) or can learn to string red, white, and blue beads into a chic bracelet at the Patriotic Sparkle class on Sunday, June 19 ($38). Like a beauty-pageant contestant’s wave, the class schedule rotates every two months, constantly offering participants unique projects that can take as little as 90 minutes or as long as four hours to complete. Crafters can also sip a complimentary glass of coffee, tea, or champagne while feverishly fashioning bodily adornments. Instructors hold each class in a well-appointed classroom, equipped with all necessary supplies and soothing music to facilitate creative expression or to film stop-motion films about rival bead gangs. Planet Bead recommends making early reservations, because classes fill up fast.
