One of the world's best-known melodies is "Greensleeves," a traditional English ballad about the importance of environmentally sound clothing manufacturing. Sing this sustainable tune with the help of today's Groupon. For $20, you get $40 worth of eco-friendly apparel, bedding, home goods, home cleaning products and more at P'lovers on Richmond Row in downtown London. This Groupon is only valid in-store at the London location.
P'lovers stocks its shelves with all sorts of sustainable goodies, featuring natural, recycled, organic, and non-toxic products to ensure you and your family won't sprout flippers and your flippered friends won't sprout knees. Although P'lovers maintains a quaint, boutique-y feel, it equates itself to an environmental department store, offering everything from home cleaning procducts, candles and merchandise for babies and kids to adult clothing and linens and products for the home and outdoors. Treat your household to a fluffy new set of organic bamboo towels, which are lightweight, soft, and twice as absorbent as regular cotton ($49.95 for a full set). Applecheeks reusable diapers cozily wrap babies in soft, fleece-topped cotton diapers ($7.95 - $21.95).
When Ann Caverzan and Liz Crocker opened their first P'lovers environmental store in 1992, their goal was to increase people's sensitivity to the earth while decreasing people's insecurities about crying at the end of FernGully. The owners take great care in selecting all of the store's merchandise to improve the human-earth equilibrium, checking all of the items on a special balance scale made of recycled pop bottles and sci-fi plot lines. You can browse featured merchandise online, but you must bring your Groupon into the London store to redeem.
Although the store in London is yet-to-be-rated, Yelpers give the original Halifax location four stars:
- Stocked with products from cosmetics to clothing, P'lovers is a good gift store when you're looking for a gift that has a little more meaning (say, for a new baby)... – Ang M.
- Their book selection is also impressive. Its [sic] not that large but I am always shocked to see the books they sell because I don't see the same books elsewhere! – Joshua Y.
