What You'll Get
The diaries of Lewis and Clark are filled with cantankerous laments about having to tour the wilderness by foot and the startling lack of trailside fast-food options. Equip yourself with a discoverer's eyes and a Robocop's wheels with today's Groupon: for $15, you get a guided 30-minute segway tour of Jim Thorpe, Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort, or Split Rock Resort & Golf Club from Pocono Segway Tours (a $30 value).
Pocono Segway Tours gracefully scoots tour members throughout the rolling foothills of the Pocono Mountains, gracing them with scenic perspectives of historic Poconos resorts and towns. From the vantage point of a self-balancing steed, guests go out in small groups with a guide and explore idyllic locales such as Jim Thorpe, sailing down its charming streets. Riders can also choose to tour the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort, exploring wooded paths and panning views along the Delaware Water Gap. For stunning mountain sights, try the Split Rock Resort & Golf Club tour, which skirts along the expansive Lake Harmony. Along the way, the segway's silent motor enables each tour member to fully appreciate the surrounding environment and its chorus of birdsongs, leaf flaps, and the faint sounds of raccoons harmonizing Boys II Men melodies in the distance. Tours are offered seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
