About Poggio Leano Tasting Room & Lounge

Alessandro Prestifilippo left Sicily in 1996 to chase his dreams of opening up his own restaurant in America – California to be exact! Without knowing a word of English, Alex’s drive led to his first restaurant doors to open just three years later. Gourmet Italia is now said to be “the top Italian restaurant in Temecula” and is listed as #1 in ‘Best Cuisine’ in Temecula Wine Country on OpenTable.Fast-forward to 2007, Poggio Leano Winery and Vineyards was established when Alex decided to plant wine grapes on his estate in De Luz, Temecula. The coastal climate and soil offer the unique ability to grow wine grapes rarely found anywhere else in the valley. Thanks to the Italian viticulture expertise used to produce Poggio Leano wine, the selection of wines served is nothing short of phenomenal.

In 2017, Poggio Leano launched its wine club. We offer three different memberships with unique benefits, including a 7-night stay at our boutique resorts in Sicily, Italy. Alex truly wants to share the love for his homeland, and is passionate to not only “bring Italy to America”, but also show Americans Sicily!The value and love for Poggio Leano is proven; over 35% of our wine club members have been a part of our wine club family for OVER 5 YEARS!
