Enduring tedious treadmills and dull weights for weeks on end can cause bitter disappointment or the common cold. Sensualize exercise with today’s deal: for $45, new customers get five classes at Pole Fitness Miami in Coral Gables, a Best of Citysearch 2009 winner. Along with the classes (a $150 value), you’ll also get a 50% discount on a 20-class package (normally $400), plus a 20% discount on stilettos at the studio’s Luscious Boutique. Reservations are required, so take a look at the class schedule and email ahead.
Owner/professional dancer Susan Hilferty and her staff of highly trained, encouraging instructors make sure women of every size, shape, and age are enthusiastic about their first spin. Beginners can learn the basics during “Flirt,” the first level of Pole Fitness’s seven classes. From there, you can work your way up to “Temptress,” learn how to combine pole tricks in “Vixen,” do it all upside down in “Diva,” and develop your own dance style in “Siren.” Besides having a blast and raising sexiness levels 12.5% Zeta-Joneses higher than the national average, you’ll tone muscles, slim your waistline, and increase your flexibility. If you want to continue your ascent up Mt. Sexy to the “Goddess”- and “Showgirl”-level classes or sample non-structured classes such as pole tango and sensual free flow, you can buy 20 more classes for half price. This package also covers non-polecentric classes such as booty blast, naughty but nice burlesque, and grind house.
A spin on a floor-to-ceiling staff can burn more calories than the same amount of time spent unsexily treadmilling, stair climbing, lifting Aunt Gladys above your head, or attacking a punching bag made from recycled car batteries. While most exercise will make you look better naked, pole-based exercises have the added benefit of making you feel naked, even when clothed. Give yourself this confidence boost with today’s Groupon, or buy multiples for swagger-deprived friends.

About Pole Fitness Miami
On the surface, Susan Hilferty appeared to be living the American dream—a promising position as a pharmaceutical rep, plus an upcoming marriage. But for a woman who grew up studying at The School of American Ballet and dancing on stages including Lincoln Center, selling pills felt empty at times, and Hilferty found her need for physical expression growing stronger. While visiting a friend in Los Angeles, she took her first pole-dancing class, and almost immediately, her life took a new direction.
Though she faced resistance from friends and family, Hilferty saw in her classes how pole dancing transformed women—giving them new confidence, encouraging them to overcome insecurities, and helping them heal from past traumas. She called off her wedding, continued taking classes, and eventually opened Pole Fitness Miami. Today, she and her team of trained ballerinas lead pole-dancing and dance-based fitness classes at two locations. Ranked on CBS Local Miami's list of Best Places For Unique Workouts, the boutique surrounds saunterers with purple walls, subdued lighting, and gauzy curtains to create a sultry atmosphere. Additionally, Hilferty and her crew help students obtain pole-dance certifications, as well as arrange pole-dance parties so groups of damsels can strengthen their bonds or celebrate becoming volunteer firefighters.
