Eastern Europe's hearty cuisine gives people the strength to withstand long, snowy winters and short, snowy summers. Warm up with this Groupon.
Two Groupons, Each Good for $20 Worth of Traditional Polish Cuisine ($40 Total Value)
Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Polish Cottage features a menu of Eastern European food and a handful of American classics. During lunch and dinner, begin meals with cups of botwina beet soup ($3.50) before moving on to a half-dozen sauerkraut and mushroom pierogis ($7.20). Entrees include smoked Polish sausage served with caramelized onions plus a roll of bread ($7.90) or fried potatoes ($9.35), or potato pancakes served with sour cream and apple sauce ($6.99).
Polish Cottage's name is a nod not only to its food, but also its space, where bright-blue walls hold decorative folk art and surround a white, raised fireplace. In this cozy setting, Polish beers, two types of sausages, and Old-World–style hunter stews populate the tabletops. Five types of fillings––ranging from bison to sauerkraut––stuff pillowy pierogies, and classic golabki, or cabbage rolls, are smothered in the house tomato sauce. In the wee hours, the kitchen staff prepares plates of Polish ham and homemade farmer's cheese, both of which they also fold into omelets.
