Q:

Can I make an appointment for both cleaning and the whitening treatment at the same time?

Jeanne C.  asked on  Jan 28, 2013

A:

Hi Jeanne -- absolutely! Both procedures are easy, and we see better results in some patients who do a cleaning prior to whitening. Feel free to call (480) 767-1077, and we will schedule for whenever is convenient for you!

Q:

Is this like Zoom?

erik s.  asked on  Jan 26, 2013

A:

Hi Erik -- that's a good question! (and one that we hear a lot) Teeth Whitening at POLISHED The Dental Spa and Zoom both whiten your teeth, but there are many differences. After extensively researching Teeth Whitening, we have created a protocol that provides optimal results with no bells and whistles. Perhaps the chief difference between Teeth Whitening at POLISHED and Zoom is that we have chosen to not use a "laser" (or light) to "activate" the hydrogen peroxide -- after extensively researching peer-reviewed articles on this subject, we have concluded that such a method does not enhance results. It also is more comfortable for our clients -- instead of staring into a UV lamp for an hour, our clients get to read a book, or play Angry Birds on one of our iPads (safely) suspended within reach. Hydrogen Peroxide is approved by the FDA for Teeth Whitening, so we simply use the strongest concentration available. We reapply fresh peroxide every 10 minutes to ensure that you always have a fresh coat, optimizing results. POLISHED provides the best results for the time that you commit. Teeth Whitening at POLISHED is also super affordable -- we recommend a longer initial visit (the $180 deal here) to get your teeth as white as you want them, and then to maintain that level for as little as 90 of your dollars and 20 of your minutes every couple of months. That is a quick overview of our Teeth Whitening and how it is different. Our licensed Dental Hygienists are always available at (480) 767-1077 to answer any other questions you may have in detail. Looking forward to seeing you at POLISHED soon!

Q:

What type of teeth sensitivity is associated with the whitening treatment and how long does the procedure usually take?

Mary  asked on  Jan 26, 2013

A:

Hi Mary -- thanks for your question! Teeth sensitivity is concern number one in any teeth whitening procedure, but POLISHED takes that out of play. The teeth sensitivity associated with whitening teeth comes from the Hydrogen Peroxide over-saturating the tooth and reaching the nerve. It tends to be a sharp pain (sometimes referred to as "zingers"), lasting several seconds and then subsiding -- but still, yikes! POLISHED The Dental Spa takes teeth sensitivity out of play by controlling how long the Hydrogen Peroxide is on your teeth and/or applying other therapeutic agents (such as fluoride) to keep pain out of play. We only have licensed Dental Hygienists providing teeth whitening -- our staff really knows their stuff! The procedure can take anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes, depending on how long you are comfortable staying in the chair. I hope that answered your question -- feel free to call (480) 767-1077 to speak with one of our Hygienists about any aspect of our procedure. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
