Art is hard, especially when fortified by the flames of a sintering kiln. Acquire a piece of sturdy ceramic eye candy with today's Groupon: for $20, you get $40 worth of hand-painted stoneware from Polmedia Polish Pottery. This Groupon is not valid for shipping costs.

Polmedia Polish Pottery stuffs cupboards and adorns homes with its durable hand-painted stoneware imported from a factory in Boleslawiec, Poland. The stock in its 12,000-square-foot Texas warehouse comprises 2,664 shapes and 3,507 glaze patterns, with more options available by special order. Contain jittery coffee drops or precious donkey tears in a mug emblazoned with a pattern of concentric circles ($11.89) or slurp up Earl Grey from a floral cup and saucer set ($20.24). A dinner plate imprisons entrees within rings of yellow, green, and blue geometric designs ($16.46). All of Polmedia's products are lead- and cadmium-free, dishwasher- and microwave-safe, and active in their local Rotary Club.

Polmedia Polish Pottery

When the Berlin Wall fell in 1989, a man named Artur and his family sprang into action. Capitalism then began to flourish in their native Poland, fostering the opportunity to open their family-run pottery shop. Their ornate pottery, which is made with clay found only in Poland and hand-painted with laser precision, then made its way to the United States when Artur emigrated there to study.

The stateside warehouse fills each of its 12,000 square feet with the Polish-made imported pottery. The pieces are all hand painted with intricate floral and geometric patterns using a palette predominantly composed of cool tones, pops of red, and cleansing sherbets between each color scheme. “We have the largest selection, the widest variety of Polish pottery nationwide,” said staff member during an interview on Fox 29. Each piece of stoneware can withstand use in the microwave and dishwasher but should never be flushed down the toilet.
