Go-karts allow people to experience the thrill of driving without having to hear radio ads for pungent soaps or hear their car described as a public nuisance on the daily traffic report. Keep thrills pure with today's Groupon: for $22, you get two 20-minute outdoor go-kart adventures at Polson Pier (a $44 value). This Groupon may be used by two people for 20 minutes each, or one person for 40 minutes.
Polson Pier charts a 0.75-kilometre go-karting course for drivers of all ages 11 to 70 to achieve speeds of up to 40 k/ph. In 20-minute sessions, each driver harnesses one of 24 traditional karts or a double-seater that can hold a parent and child younger than seven or daredevil pug. Wind through ten different testing turns looming along the harbor-side track adjacent to Polson Pier's various outdoor attractions (not included in today's deal) such as mini golf, rock climbing, swimming, and restaurants. Polson Pier is open everyday from 12 p.m.–9 p.m.
The rumble of engines. The squeal of tires. The victorious flap of checkered flag. Traditionally, the exhilarating sounds of auto racing have been confined to the zooming packs of Indycars that snake around the streets of Exhibition Place every summer. Now, however, visitors to Polson Pier can keep Toronto's race day spirit alive for months at a time. The 0.75-kilometre track, one of the largest in the area, invites up to 20 racers at a time to navigate side-by-side traffic in karts that hit top speeds of 40 kilometres per hour. In addition to outmanoeuvring their fellow racers, drivers must also contend with the track itself, where 10 turns challenge reaction time and racing instincts alike. After races end, drivers can recount tales of on-track adventure at other nearby attractions, including a miniature golf course, indoor rock climbing, and a driving range.
