Choose Between Two Options

  • $75 for a three-hour sailing lesson for one with $10 food voucher (a $260 value)
  • $599 for a two-week youth sailing day camp (a $1,040 value)

The semiprivate sailing lesson gives pointers on sailing techniques for any level of experience, from beginners to sailors looking to improve their skills. Offered aboard company boats, lessons embark seven days a week starting at 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. with a max of four students per group. The $10 food voucher is redeemable at Marino’s on the Bay.

Alternatively, the two-week camp welcomes students aged 10–16. Camps take place Monday–Friday from August 5 to 16. Each day lasts from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., during which time sailing instructors teach the rules or racing, plotting courses, and other necessary skills. More experienced students can sail independently while supervised.

About Port Sailing School

Since 2004, the first-aid- and CPR-trained crew at Port Sailing School has ferried passengers over Manhasset Bay in Port Washington and and Echo Bay in New Rochelle. The outfits 20 noble vessels include Optimists, a Catalina 25, a Cal 25, a 2 cabin Beneteau 36, a Dufour 43 and over 15 Sonars 23's, designated as the fleet’s primary lesson boat for its roomy cockpit and no-mutinies record. Aboard the Sonar 23, students learn sailing skills and marine laws through instructional courses that range from private introductory sailing lessons to state safety certifications. Based on the course topic, lessons may focus on such boating aspects as docking, mooring pickup, anchoring, or advanced racing techniques, each dictated by the desires of the student and the daily attitude of the sea.
