- $15 for admission for one to Great Wakes Festival on Saturday, August 17 (a $25 value)
At the fourth-annual Paella in the Park festival, dozens of local chefs prepare unique variations of Spanish paella using local wines and indigenous ingredients. Guests can pair the dishes with local wines, craft beers and spirits, and hit up the Farmer’s Market Bloody Mary bar for a cocktail inspired by the ghost of Mary Shelley.
More than 250 stand-up paddle boarders will hit the bay during the second-annual Great Wakes Festival and TC Waterman Stand Up Paddle Board Nationals. The event also features entertainment from Grammy-winning Latin hip-hop group Ozomatli, and a Luau celebration complete with a pig roast, fish tacos, and local craft drinks.
Each event begins at 5 p.m. at the Open Space park in Traverse City.
