Based on Charles Dickens' classic coming of age novel, Great Expectations focuses on the Victorian orphan Pip. Orphaned as an infant and thrust into a childhood of cruel poverty, Pip clings to the hope of a brighter life. As a child, he encounters three people who will forever change his life -- the beautiful but unfeeling Estella, an escaped convict and the disturbed Miss Havisham. Then one night, Pip learns that an anonymous benefactor has anointed him heir to a tremendous fortune, setting into motion a life's journey beyond his wildest dreams and the harshest lessons about love, family, social class and upward mobility.
