About Potomac Dentistry

Dr. Farzam Tamami considers himself an artist who happens to have a dental degree. He grew up loving the baroque and classical music of Bach and Chopin and spent his formative years in Austria reproducing their works on the piano. This practice instilled in him an appreciation for design, aesthetics, and how beauty “works.” Later, after he moved to the United States and began to study biology, he transferred these artistic sensibilities to the mechanics of the mouth. After completing a one-year residency in Advanced Dentistry with specific emphasis on veneers, he has now been in practice for more than 12 years. He considers the mouth—in particular, the smile—to be the closest our bodies ever come to producing a natural work of art.

Dr. Tamami believes a smile should be white, symmetrical, and confident. He aims to help patients achieve these qualities with dental services that range from cosmetic whitening to veneers to full-mouth reconstruction. All these services take place in a massaging dental chair and inside an almost fully digital office that keeps paper out of landfills and inside the best pillows.
