What You'll Get
Jump to: Reviews
Gear up the kayak lover in your life with today’s side deal, where $50 gets you $100 worth of equipment, lessons, and kayaking trips at Potomac Paddlesports in Rockville.
Though the season for kayaking has ended, ‘tis the season for getting off-season prices on kayaking equipment. Pick up your paddling posse some SeaSpecs Sunglasses ($58.99) or a new pair of NRS Paddle wetshoes ($44.95). Or better yet, think about the look on their faces when they find a wrapped kayak under the Christmas tree—just tell them that giant banana-shaped mystery item is a DVD box set. You can check out Potomac Paddlesports' selection on its website before you buy, but you'll have to use the Groupon in-store.
If you can wait until thawing season, you can always use your Groupon on one of Potomac’s lessons or trips, such as the beginner lessons or the monument tour ($98). Buy a few extra for your friends and you'll get to laugh when they tip into the water.
Yelpers give Potomac Paddlesports 4.5 stars:
- The retail store which was opened about a year ago has a great feel to it, with comfortable couches and a great selection of the top gear for paddlers. – emmy f.
- They have a great selection of gear in the shop at prices comparable to the best online deals you can find, plus they are keeping alive a local paddling community, so I'd rather spend it here. – song s.

About Potomac Paddlesports
At Potomac Paddlesports, the first professional paddlesports school to be endorsed by the American Canoe Association, the team of American Canoe Association– and British Canoe Union–certified instructors patiently lead students through a methodical progression of flat-water paddling skills. The classes cover a variety of watersports, including whitewater rafting, river and sea kayaking, and standup paddling. The small-group classes are designed to keep students engaged, and longer trips down the Potomac challenge their skills with powerful rapids surrounded by lush scenery, interspersed with rare glimpses of bears putting on their bear suits. Outside of class, students can bond with fellow paddlers during weekly sushi meals and occasional movie nights. Further demonstrating their dedication to bodies of water, Potomac Paddlesports works to preserve the nation’s rivers, estuaries, and oceans, sharing this passion with its members through advocacy and donations to conservation programs.
