Sometimes there aren't enough hours in the day to cook, either because of daylight-saving time or time-gobbling time goblins. Squeeze out all the hours from your day-rag with today's Groupon: for $150, you get a 90-minute Make-Your-Own-Pizza Party for up to 20 children from Potomac Pizza, redeemable at either the Traville Village Center location in Rockville or the Kentlands Market Square location in Gaithersburg.
Potomac Pizza has been slinging saucy circulars and filling empty tummies throughout the metro area since 1978. During a Make-Your-Own-Pizza Party, up to 20 dough-tossing tykes learn to create their own personal pizza, perfecting the tricky sauce-to-cheese ratio based on a secret Fibonacci sequence. Bottomless pitchers of soft drinks and juice ensure kids stay hydrated during pizza construction, and a selection of four flavors of gourmet cupcakes eliminates fallout from failed topping experiments. The birthday boy or girl gets a Potomac Pizza T-shirt and may bring 30–45 minutes' worth of outside entertainment if desired, whether it's a pie-juggling clown or a pi-reciting mathematician. Parties can be scheduled to start at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 2 p.m., or 4 p.m.; Potomac Pizza may be able to accommodate additional times upon request.
Potomac Pizza’s chefs toss and stretch fluffy, nonfat, and cholesterol-free dough into pizzas lauded by the Washington Post for “returning pizza to its good name” in a world of national chains. The DC-area pizzerias create each pie with freshly-made sauce and a selection of 24 toppings, such as grilled chicken, eggplant, feta cheese, and Canadian bacon. Potomac Pizza’s kitchens also whip up calzones, and other Italian specialties such as lasagna and veal parmesan, served in Potomac’s dining rooms or nestled into boxes for takeout and delivery orders.
