What You'll Get

Jump to: Reviews | Wraps vs. Raps

Today's Groupon gets you $14 worth of freshly pressed feasts for $7 at Press NY. Press is a quick-service restaurant that fills wraps, salads, and hungry stomachs with delicious, additive-free foodstuffs. Its healthy wraps are freshly prepared with a finely pressed doughy exterior available in whole wheat and white.

Press NY wraps up your choice of five base ingredients: chicken breast, rib-eye steak, burger, eggplant with goat cheese, and portobello mushrooms with zucchini ($7.50–$8.50). Add extras such as carrots, crispy onions, pickles, red peppers, salsa, tomato, and guacamole, then top it off with one of seven homemade sauces. That's roughly 5,930,495 possible combinations of deliciousness. Press NY's salads ($8.50–$9.50) have similar ingredients, but in a different format, like how your dad somehow got The Bourne Supremacy on laserdisc. Check the menu for a full description. You can also order wraps and salads in combo format ($12–$13).

The restaurant also offers two $9.95 lunch specials from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The first includes a wrap with choice of soup, side salad, or fries with a drink, and the second includes a full-sized salad, soup, or fries with a drink. Press NY stays open until midnight during the week and 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday to satisfy early morning wrap wants. Service at Press NY is fast and friendly, and the restaurant is clean and swanky with white walls, comfortable black stools, and gray tile floors.

Citysearchers and Yelpers give Press NY 3.5 stars:

  • Press NY is VERY good! I went there for lunch and was impressed. The sauces they have are so good, and the food is fresh, healthy, and was made when I ordered it. – scatone, Citysearch
  • Just finished my first meal at Press and I can say that this spot will definitely be in my lunch rotation every week. – Michael S., Yelp

Wraps vs. Raps

Though they sound identical when spoken aloud, wrap and rap are different words with distinctly different meanings:

Wraps are served in tortillas, pitas or other flatbreads. Raps are just straight-up served.

Wraps are chock-full of delicious treats. Raps are chock-full of ways to humiliate your enemies.

Wrappers wrap the wraps that encase your lunch in a delicious wrap. Rappers are gritty storytellers of street life, or, alternatively, pitchmen for double-decker limousines and futuristic looking beverages.
