Q:

What is the difference between Botox and a filler?

Mary S.  asked on  Feb 4, 2013

A:

Botox lasts 4-6 months and is used to help fine lines and wrinkles. Botox costs $9/unit and most people usually use about 20 units or more (depening on the area of use). Fillers such as Juvederm and Radiesse last up to 9 months and are used to lill in sagging skin and areas that need to be "plumped" up - such as the paranthesis around the mouth. Fillers cost $400 and up per syringe. Please do call for a free consultation to learn what is best to reach your goals.

Q:

I would like to have my mouth lines done. I am 54 years of age. Do you think on the average that 10 units would do the job? Also, what do you look like when you have the treatment and how long does it take for the swelling to go down where you look normal?

Mary S.  asked on  Feb 4, 2013

A:

Mary, It's hard to say just based on your age alone. There are many factors - smoking, sun damage...basically everyone ages differently and we really need to see you for a compimentary consultation. Swelling is also individualized, but typically is very minimal with Botox (just a couple days - depending where you get Botox). There is more swelling when you get fillers, which could be up to 2 weeks. Please call for a complimentary consult. You have through Friday to purchase this Groupon, so there's time to get in for a consult. Call now!! 114th & Dodge: 402-408-0017 or 127th & Q: 402-895-8001

Q:

How about wrinkles in the neck area?

Estheleen M.  asked on  Feb 4, 2013

A:

Estheleen: This is hard to answer without knowing more of what you are looking to accomplish. We can inject Botox into the Platysmal Bands (the vertical muscles in your neck) which may also help to soften any horizontal lines. However, if you're looking to help sagging skin, we do offer Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) for loose skin all over - including the neck, and we also have some great tightening creams. If you'd like to learn more about Botox in the neck, CIT or the creams, please schedule a free consultation. CIT is offered at 127th & Q only : 402-895-8001.

Q:

How many units are usually needed to treat a 55 year old forehead with 'four', not deep lateral lines, APPROX??

Greta L.  asked on  Feb 4, 2013

A:

Greta, Thanks for the question. Without actually seeing you, it's really hard to say. It all depends on how deep the lines are, and how strong your muscles are. However, a good start would probably be 20-30 units, but again, it all depends on the individual. I recommend you call us for a free consultation and a Nurse Practitioner can advise better after seeing you. 114th & Dodge: 402-408-0017; 127th & Q: 402-895-8001.
